Comment:  This article, if correct, gives details of the charges and in essence gives Sig no fault of the gun going off by accident.  See attached file front cover and page 3 for this coverage.

From personal experience and personal opinion after much training as a competitive shooter:

    • Failing to verify an empty chamber before trigger pull is the danger of semi-automatic pistols especially after dumping the magazine and thinking the gun is now unloaded.
    • Never trust a built in loaded chamber indicator feature on the gun itself to be accurate of the condition of the chamber.
    • Always pull the slide back and visually verify status of the chamber.

Also, this is all very real to me:
I witnessed a one bullet accidental discharge at a gun show resulting in two personal injuries, the second caused by bullet ricochet.  Blood and people passing out followed. Many veterans in the venue immediately
hit the deck when the round went off.

    stop using M18 pistols

    Quote:

The suspect’s charges indicate investigators believe Lovan’s death was likely the result of a negligent discharge in which the gun’s trigger was accidentally pulled and the gun fired.

Two hands are shown gripping and firing a pistol.
