Note: This Reunion is for ALL former members of the 321SMW. It took ALL of us to achieve the mission. Also, spouses are encouraged to attend.
The reunion will take place on Thursday, June 5 through Friday, June 6, 2025,in Grand Forks.
I need your RSVP as soon as possible so I can give Grand Forks AFB, the restaurant, museum, and Oscar-0 the total number of people to expect.
Please respond by email to 321SMW.Reunion.at.Oscar.0@gmail.com by May 2, 2025.
You are all responsible for your own travel to and from Grand Forks. For those of you who will be flying to Grand Forks, please keep in mind that rental cars may be more limited than in a larger city. Also, as we get closer to summer, the cars may be more expensive, so make a reservation as early as you can.
You are also responsible for your own hotel reservations. Below are some URLs for Grand Forks Hotels. My wife, Carol, and I will be staying at the Staybridge Inn & Suites. We were there last year and found it to be comfortable and convenient.

For those who arrive earlier on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, we will meet at 7:30 pm in the Staybridge Suites common area where we met last year for an early get together. The Staybridge Suites address is: 1175 42nd Street S Grand Forks, North Dakota.
The Reunion will start on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Grand Forks AFB where we will receive a briefing and tour at the base on their current mission. I will put together a short PowerPoint presentation on the mission we had decades ago. After these presentations, we will have a question-and-answer session. For those who can drive on base, the specific location will be provided so you can drive directly to it. For those who cannot drive on base, the Public Affairs personnel will provide a bus from the front gate to the specific location for the briefing.
After the base visit, we will go back to the Staybridge Suites to meet and mingle in the common area where we met last year.
We will meet for a group dinner on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 5:00 pm at the Ground Round (located at 2800 32nd Ave S., Grand Forks, ND 58201). We will have our own room and some outside seating depending on the number of reunion attendees. The Chef, Gam Wong specializes in Chinese food, but you can also order off the menu if you choose. There will be separate checks for each person or family.
On Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:00 am, we will all meet at the Griggs County Museum located at 203 12th Street Southeast, Cooperstown, North Dakota 58425. We will all drive our own cars, or carpool to give each of us more latitude on how long we stay at any of the locations.
The agenda at the Griggs County Museum will be:
· Opening Comments.
· Comments from former 321SMW Commanders.
· Short presentation on Veterans Administration support and the PACT Act.
· A remembrance and moment of silence for our fellow veterans who are no longer with us.
· Tour the museum (they have a section dedicated to the USAF ICBMs).
· Note: The Griggs County Museum is free for us to visit. However, there are expenses for the operation of the Museum, so they would appreciate any donations that we can make to help with their expenses.
After the museum, we will have lunch at 12:00 pm . Options are:
· Pizza Ranch. 815 Burrel Ave SW, Cooperstown, ND.
· Grumpy's. 1103 Rollin Ave SE, Cooperstown, ND.
· You can eat at Pizza Ranch or Grumpy’s, or order takeout and bring it to Oscar-0. Rob Branting will have tables and chairs set up for us in the garage at Oscar-0.
After lunch, at 1:00 pm, we will meet at the Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site (formerly known as Oscar-0). Just take North Dakota Route 45 North out of Cooperstown (It is the only paved road going north out of Cooperstown). Oscar-0 is located at 555 113 1/2 Ave NE, Cooperstown, ND.
At Oscar-0, Rob Branting (Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site Supervisor) and his staff will give tours of both “Topside” and down the elevator to the Launch Control Center and the Launch Control Equipment Building). Note: Rob said the tours will be free for our members. However, it does take funding to keep Oscar-0 open, so if you can, please make a small donation. Thanks.
The Oscar-0 staff will have groups of 15 people on each tour. I will try to have each group of 15 people have a former Launch Control Officer answer questions related to the duties they had below ground.
Rob Branting will set up chairs and tables in the garage to allow us to catch up with each other.
Please respond individually to 321SMW.Reunion.at.Oscar.0@gmail.comif you have any questions or comments. Please do not RESPOND TO ALL.
